This is way OT, but for someone who wants a nice "play" car that is great
for track work, and blowing off new LS1s and Cobras on the street, this
would be a nice toy.
FWIW, my '84 911 cabriolet (heaviest model) has a 3.2 motor, and I have
turned a 13.98 at 102 with it basically stock except for a chip. The 3.6
motor is in the late model 911s that run mid 13s. Putting this late 3.6
motor into an '83 911 shaves off about 500 pounds of weight. This car would
kick butt, plus have excellent handling, cheaper insurance due to being an
older 911, and just generally be a cool toy.
I don't know the guy, have no interest in the car, yada, yada, yada.

Subject: [911] 83 SC with 3.6 FS CHEAP! $14500 OBO
Hi everyone-
I just a couple months ago completed my conversion. There are a couple
things still that need to be done, that I have simply run out of time and
will to do. I recently purchased a 996 to have a car to drive, the SC
needs to go.
It is a car I originally bought from a friend in 1995, I sold it to
another friend in 98, who sold it back to me in August. The car had no
engine when I purchased, but was set up for a 3.6. I bought a complete 90
C2 from a salvage yard, that was I knew I would have all the items I
needed for the swap. The engine has 62000. Leakdown and compression are
excellent. Engine has no oil leaks-suprises even me. I have no idea if
it has had the update to the heads and cylinders. Runs great-ocassionally
there is a stumble at 2700 to 3000 RPM. Shift forks need to be adjusted,
first gear synchro is weak. I am taking it to my transmission man when I
find the time next week for him to adjust the forks-
Car is Gaurds red, repainted in original color about 3 years ago. Looks
quite nice. Interior is tan full leather, the front seats are worn, but
not ripped. Dash, carpet, rest of the interior is very nice. Has 993 turbo
style tail, and a new RSR style front spoiler that I just put on. Right
front fender has a chip in it, needs to be fixed. ODO shows 90000. When
I first bought the car it had 67000 miles or so-so mileage is about right.
Suspension was redone after I sold the car...Bilstein sports with Sanders
gun barrel drilled torsion bars. Had
Charlie sway bars, but my buddie wanted to keep them, so currently has
stock sc sway bars.Has C2 oil cooler mounted in right front fender.
Wheels are stock fuchs with dunlop sport 9000-nothing to special there.
Hot shot sound system...
New modified SSI heat exchangers, because I wanted heat this winter, hot
dog muffler...
This is really a nice car that needs just a little extra time that I dont
have now.
Feel free to call me at 800.988.5097, that is my business. Just tell
Cindy that it is Porsche related and I will get the call-
996 is out of warranty next week, I need to free up some $ for new stuff
for it!
