Ron,

Considering the narrow range of adjustment recommendations 
on the SHO shims, wouldn't it be correct to say that while 
your explanation of gap and torque is correct, that the 
difference would be so small between minimum correct gap and 
maximum correct gap, that the torque (or lack of) would be 
VERY hard to detect on a "butt" dyno?  Maybe you could pick 
it up on a real dyno, but with the loss of power he is 
talking about, I don't think you could even come close to 
accounting for it in just doing a "towards the tight end" 
valve adjustment?

When I did my valves, I just shot for the middle, assuming 
it was the ideal from the factory, and they did a pretty 
good job.
