Wow, I have to admit that on my '93 (before all we ended up doing to it) I 
was only getting 170 miles per tank.   I realized how bad the gas mileage was 
after about 2-3 tank fulls.  That's when we first decided to try the t-stat.

Just my .02

After that it becomes a long story. 

BTW, I am a happy camper here in the frozen tundra.  My hubby just installed 
my automatic car starter.   Woo Hoo!!!!
