I got my license at 16. My Dad made me wait. In those days in South
Carolina we could get a restricted license( daylight hours only) at 14. I
bought my first car at 17 with my own money. I had a part-time job. I paid
for the car, the insurance, and all expenses associated with the car. My
Dad didn't hand out cars. I have had numerous cars since. I have never had
a wreck that was my fault and have never been in a serious accident (knock
on wood). An old lady rear ending my Mercury when I was in college. Did
about $400 in damage. No biggie. I have a motorcycle license also. I
don't have a bike. I ride my son's KTM occasionally.
BTW was that Justy a 3-cylinder ? I had a friend in Virginia who had a
3-cylinder and I didn't know they would do 85.
