According to my 1992 EVTM, signal to the tach comes from the EEC.

Subject: [Shotimes] Tach Again

Okay, all, I know that this will be the third time asking but I wanted to know if any one had any ideas about where the Tach is
connected to the engine. I looked under the Electronic Ignition section in the Helms but of course, under the tach connection sub
heading all that it has is a warning not to ground the connector as it will damage the ignition coil. I swear someone upstairs
doesn't want me to get this fixed. Just for the hell of it, I looked under the distributor ignition section and the tach there
connects to the ignition coil. Does anyone have a Helms that would be willing to check and see if their's mentions where the tach
actually connects? The section for this in my 94 Helms manual is 03-07B and the tach connection is listed on the 9th page of that
section. I am at my wits end and I am about to pull out what little hair I have left.
Thanks guys, Jon B.
