I have just started dissassembling my 1990 SHO due to a completely blown-out
transmission. At first thought to be a blown differential it was later
discovered to have every seal and gasket damaged. I've never seen leaks like
this on a trans before, neither had or transmission guy. He laughed and
laughed at how big of a dork I am to race a Taurus. Here are some juicy pieces
still available off of the car. I'm also willing to accept trades for parts to
get my current project finished. I'm installing the SHO 3.0 V6 into my 1976
Mustang II ghia. I figure the lightweight of the motor with the advantages of
RWD in such a light chasis will make for some very upset stoplight
contestants. I'm currently preparing to use a T-9 4speed tranny <factory man
trans on that model> with the aerostar bellhousing and my Centerforce Stage 2
clutch and flywheel. Does anyone know if I can use my clutch and flywheel or
will I need one to fit the trans?? Ok, back to the point of this story...
Aluminum subframe bushings
(4) basketweave wheels w/ tires <needs 2 tires, but could use all 4>
almost new O2 sensors <these look brand new and have no problems at all>
K&N panel filter
55mm MAF meter <worked good when removed, as-is>
blown transmission <anyone bored enough for this?>
(2) like new axles <used less than 3K miles> re-inforced for heavy
acceleration
torque limiters <work great, no play at all>
I plan on keeping the clutch and flywheel for my project unless they are
incompatible. In that case I'll also have a Centerforce Stage 2 dual friction
clutch with full organic face and a slightly lightened flywheel. Both pieces
have just about 3K miles on them and the clutch is rated up to 450hp. Should
be great for what I'm trying to do. Any advice? Comments? Suggestions? Let me
know!
