LOL!!!!  It had been so long since the last time I got pulled over (1988), that when
I crossed a shoulder line last July to get around a bunch of stopped cars trying to
merge onto I-80, right in front of a CHP (I didn't know that was illegal), I didn't
know what to say, and just took the ticket.  (Worked it off with driver's school.)  

It took me 6 months (!!!!), until LAST NIGHT, to think of a decent excuse and phrase
it so he would have believed me....the car (Slorider) has a leaking radiator, and
was beginning to get hot....we had been in traffic at that interchange for a
while....I could have told him I was going to the gas station (which we were, for
gas) to get water to cool it off....

Duhhhhh!!
