Scott,
Where are you getting your #'s from? Also see

Ford Taurus SHO 3.0/3.2 465(lb) (153) Taurus SHO V6

Ford 4.6 SOHC 530 (93) iron block, aluminum heads
Ford 4.6 SOHC 473 (72)
Ford 4.6 SOHC 600 (168) (Mustang)
Ford 4.6 DOHC 464 (72) "9 pounds lighter than SOHC"
Ford 4.6 DOHC 437 (77) without accessories
Ford 4.6 DOHC 521 (94) aluminum block and heads
Ford 4.6 DOHC 576 (168) (Mustang)

That web site does say if the SHO motor was fully dressed or not, I hope it
was! Is Jeffrey Sparkman here to ask?

SVT Contour Heads/Intake/PCM/Headers with a 3.0l block would be very nice,
and if $ is not issue a supercharger!
Ford Duratec 2.5/3.0 V6 360 (45) ("fully dressed")

The 3.0L SHO motor weighs in at about 450lbs. This is about 50-75lbs
heavier
than the 4.6L V-8. Not exactly light.

And as for your project - good luck. I've seen lots of people roll through
here with these project ideas, but the only one I've seen to completed was
the hacked SHOgun that was on ebay. And I bet that thing handled like a dog
turd.

Oh, I almost forgot the SHOpaz last summer, and that project looked/ran
great!
