There's another place that did this swap. Kugel Komponents swapped a
GT-40 headed motor and 5 speed into a Focus. It features an 8.8 inch
rear-end. I guess it hauls ass. It's 200 lbs heavier than the stock Focus,
but it's closer to a 50/50 balance, so it handles better. There is an article
in the latest Car Craft about it. They're supposed to be working on a
kit that would be emissions legal.

Getting hip in the Ricer thing are we Ron!
Actually it intrigues me too, the fabricator (Tillman's Custom Fabrication
http://www.ford-v8-focus.com/tillman.html) is about 2 hours north from me.
Looks like it would be a nice shop to visit!
Now if they can fit those motors&trannies in a Focus, why not a SHO!!!

Yes, that's actually the surprising thing. You would think a 3.0 V6 would
enjoy a weight savings. IIRC, the old 5.0 V8 wasn't very heavy, either.
Personally, the 4.6 or 5.0 swap into a Focus still intrigues me!

Don,
I saw a discussion recently on SHOForum and they quoted around 400lbs for a
4.6L. Maybe they were talking about an undressed 4.6L. Looks like the 4.6
& SHO motors are about the same, fully dressed. Anyways, the SHO motor is
heavier than one would first guess.
