Well, the lower timing belt cover is off, and unless my front seal is
leaking this bad, then it is the pan gasket. THere may not be a pan gasket
in there:D Only 185k, but it has lived a rough life. I will get under it
tomorrow. Not the o/p sender, this I know. MIght be leaking a little from
the level sensor, but most of the oil is from right on the front of the
engine. I am such lazy procrastinator when it comes to that 89, suprised it
was not dead long ago. It for sure is not the pinancle of SHOdom.

Tim,
Yes, there are some leaks that can be a real problem.
Chances are your leak is NOT the oil pan, but either the oil
level sensor or the oil pressure sensor, both on the back of
the motor. The pressure sensor is high on the block kind of
to the drivers side of the middle under the head.
The oil level sensor is on the pan above the drain plug.
Either can cause a LOT OF oil to come out and it goes right
onto the exhaust. These aren't hard to fix and not that
expensive. No way you could be leaking that much oil from
the pan itself unless an end gasket came all the way out,
and I have never heard of that happening if it was put in
right to begin with.
