[Shotimes] DPFE sensor aka EGR position sensor.

Hi SHO peoples:
Many thanks for the replies both on and off list to my
questions.
I took delivery of my spankin' new Wells SU-243 sensor
today at The Zone. Price was $49.99 plus tax. A/Z
calls it an EGR position sensor (Why Ford can't be
that simple I'll never know)
It looks to me to be identical to the factory one on
the car. I even noted that there is a fresh milled
area on it right where the Ford part# is on the old
one???
Anyway, about 10 minutes and the old one was off. I
did find that the small rubber hose coming off the
bottom was packed solid with black gunk. So, I might
not need the new one after all,  and should have taken
the advice to check the rubber hoses first.
I cleaned them and the old one gingerly, and will see
if the C/E light stays off.
If so, I might pass this new one on at a fair price.
other wise, it goes on the car.
