An FYI about ignition switches. I totally forgot about this until these potential
ignition switch failure symptoms started popping up.

Back while Lowrider was still under warranty, it had the switch fail. What happened
was, it did a few of the "engine running with no interior power" tricks....no radio,
EATC, all the dash lights on, but driving down the street. Then a week or two
later, it suddenly died in my driveway just as I was parking it....wouldn't crank,
wouldn't budge, no lights, no nothing....and it killed the battery dead RIGHT NOW!
There was a pretty strong electrical smell, too.

It had to be towed to the dealer and fixed...took a couple of days for the right
switch to get there...it was about 18 months old then. Had to have a new battery,
too....I got a new factory one for 18 months prorated cost.

Moral.....not everyone's switch might do this, but mine did, and remember the recall
on ALL THOSE FORD SWITCHES from the late '80s to the early '90s, due to fires.

A word to the wise......
