[Shotimes] Lost Ignition Key

The AZ units work fine. I replaced mine with one because the little switch
or contact inside for the buzzer didn't work right. It comes with a new key.
So all you have to do is have someone cut your door pattern on the new
ignition key. Like someone else said already: read the faq to understand
what I mean by this. Basically, part of the pattern on a Ford key works the
door, and part works the ignition.
And go to a locksmith, not a Ford dealer.

Out of curiosity, how is the car started without an ignition key? I
couldn't get key information for my '95, which has a key that was cut really
bad and so it only works one way. Also, the car has none of the original
paperwork (window sticker, key cards, etc.) So I'm still trying to figure
out what to do to get a good key made. I figure maybe someone could read
the key code from the lock cylinder to rekey a new cylinder (I've got the
classic spinning cylinder problem) and also cut a "perfect" key from that
keycode. I believe to remove the lock cylinder you have to have the key
(duh) so you can't just replace it with a new AZ part at the cost of about
$25. Speaking of which, does anyone know if the generic AZ replacements
work on the MTX due to the key-release switch or is there a special part
needed?
