[Shotimes] control arms question

I bought a bunch of suspension pieces from ShoShop and the control arms were
part of it. I'm still pretty new as far as knowing anything about cars and
their parts, but aren't the control arms the pieces that connect to the front
sway bars, they are about a foot long or so and made of hard white plastic?
If
so one of them seems to be bad (giving a little too much when pushed on) once
I put the sho up on the rack. Will this be part of my many clunking noises
coming from underneath? Also when I bought them I thought they were shoshop's
own.
