I'd guess they'll be looking to build low-rpm torque motors for the CVT's.
No sense in putting up with rotational friction losses of higher rpm motors
when they can just run the motor in a range of 1000 rpm all the time. No
more maximizing the compromise between torque and range, you'll only need to
build for torque now. Truck motors for the lot of ya!
