The floor pan already has soundproofing adhered to it, along with a pad, and
the carpet. Where you really want to start is with the doors. Spray the
inside of the outer skins. Then, you may want to spray the forward section
of the trunk, especially the wheel humps, as a lot of noise comes from the
trunk, more than you'd realize. The last thing I did was to rectify the
issue of wind noise generated by the forward edge of the front doors and the
slight gap that tends to exist in the rubber trim where you can see that two
pieces have been molded together. Correct that issue and you will cut high
speed wind noise in half.
Not only will your stereo "sound better", but you will reduce your power
requirements, and save your hearing a bit. If you drive a lot, road noise
alone will affect your hearing over many years.
