Somewhere in the owners manual for my Tbird Turbo was mentioned the suggestion that
the car be driven easy for the first few minutes of driving, and the last minute to
let the oil in the turbo cool down to below coking temperatures.
Lots of cars came in to dealers with blown turbos the first year or two they were
out.
Mine is original, after 200K miles.   All it took was some easy driving near
shutdown.
