Who is telling you there is no code? The light won't go on without setting a
code. If it is an intermittent problem, the code only gets stored for a few
car starts so I would suggest next time the light comes on get it checked that
day at Autozone or something.

  I am having trouble with my ck eng light as well. It comes on at irregular
times but a code is never "set"  any ideas? I have cked my gas cap, it seems
to close tight!
