[Shotimes] Power Antenna Again

When I replaced an antenna with an aftermarket unit on an unnamed
car some time ago (is that vague or what), I recall the instructions
saying that the unit grounded itself to the body, and to make sure to
get a good ground where it was mounted.  I recall having to sand away
some paint on the underside of the fender where the nut would sit
(which was a pain in my ass, I might add).  Do ours work that way?
