Ford seems to think the Generations are 1986-1995, 
1996-1999, 2000 and up.  BEst as I can determine.  Or it 
could be:  1986-1991, 1992-1995, 1996-up.

Whatever, they call the current Taurus the Third generation. 
  We call it Gen IV.

Dual sunvisor WAS very innovative and nice for a low price 
basic sedan.  Still is a feature you don't see on many vehicles.

Insta Clear lasted Through 1991 didn't it?

By "Transparent" what do you mean.  The Taurus WAS a true 
revolution in low price cars when introduced, and still is a 
pretty fine automobile.
