Each Time I had this problem I had an alignment and it was solved, and I
also seem to get it when I put on new tires...

Just so you know your not alone I also experience this same thing. I get
the shimmy between 70 and 80. I have rotated the tires and had them
balanced off the car with no luck. My next step was to take it to the shop
because I figure there must be something wrong with some part of the
suspension. I would love to know the solution.
