You forgot to add....

3. The car is a southern or California car, with no rust, in which case the job is
painless, except for reaching in to get the top nuts under the seat belt mechanisms.

I've had NO problems doing rear or front struts on our cars here.  And, the Plus
from Hell, an east coast car before being a Florida car, also had a minimum of (if
any) problems when I installed the Toks and CC springs on the back of it a year ago.
 That's the first one where I used the ratchet box wrenches, and the struts just
FLEW on, relative to the time they used to take.

Maybe when they go across the desert, either by themselves or being towed, the rust
melts off and the metal reverts back to new condition.....J/K. 

I don't remember if there was any significant rust on the back of the PfH, but I do
know I swapped everything in about 2 hours.

I totally sympathize with you all back there with rusty cars, but for me, what they
charge here for suspension swaps feels a lot nicer in MY pocket.
