The thing is...You do drive it different! 24/26 is nice for the street.
When my 89 had the 24/26 I had to run more pressure differential between
front/rear at the track to balance it out. My 92 with 24/26 can get away
with more trail braking, with a small front bar (like is on my 89 now) you
can't as much (likes to brake in a straight line). With a quaife, power on
handling TOTALLY changes so the car it's more comfortable braking straight,
and pulling through the corner. With a smaller front bar you steering
usually isn't as direct, the bigger bars make it easier to point and shoot
at the expense of the front end plowing a bit.
Frankly on my 89 I'm trying to take more bar out of it (increase the spring
rates) hoping to keep about the same roll stiffness and balance as now, but
with more spring up front to control the nose under hard braking. At real
high corner loads the big bars want to pick up the inside wheel (front or
rear).
As it is now, I won't be changing anything for the convention since I don't
even have an interior in my car at the moment :)
