[Shotimes] SHO SHOP 2-core radiator woes...

Did you replace the sender for the temp gauge? What about the water
pump?
If the only thing that changed is the radiator, something is definitely
fishy. Could it have been plugged bad enough to starve the water pump,
giving you a false gauge reading because there wasn't enough flow over
the sender? At any rate, you shouldn't be going over the line above
NORMAL; if that's a true reading it's not good.

If anyone can shed light upon this.....
Got a 2-core radiator from SHO SHOP. Installed it today and you guys
were
right, the coolant reservoir does NOT fit...its in the car more or
less
dangling were iys supposed to fit...not acceptable. IT's jammed up
almost
against the alternator, the bottom support tab only held by its hitting
the
car's frame (yet loose). I had already ordered it when this potential
issue
was brought to my attention by some of you.
After no less than 3-4 calls BEFORE getting the radiator, Tom at SHO
SHOP
assured me this radiator would fit requiring ONLY re-location of the
top 2
mounting bolts.....well...not so. No way the coolant reservoir is EVER
going
to fit without some somewhat major fiddling and fabrication of a bottom
and
top "hold" for it...
The other not so good thing is the coolant temp is hotter than it was
with a
9 year old stock radiator (it was leaking hence the replacement, guage
never
went above top line..now it does regularly even on a cooler day as
today).
when I apply gas,,,the temp rises quickly...then falls as the fan kicks
in.
I have re-checked the coolant level....it is full.
I called Tom 3 times about this very issue, when the radiator was en
route
so I could return it IF there was any install issues, I'd rather have
gone
stock and aovid hassles.....each time assured .."no problem".
So......anyone have experience with SHO SHOP ? I am pretty upset
after
spending ALL DAY on this radiator only to have my car run hotter than
the
stock radiator and this supposedly "not a problem" ...fitment problem..
I
intend to call Tom tomorrow, have him send me a stock replacement rad
and a
call tag for this one....
We'll see how he stands up to his word and service......hard to beleive
this
is from a shop who SPECIALIZES in SHO's.
any thoughts ?
thanks
