Thanks to all for the warm welcome to the list. Hopefully after I get some
experience with this car I can actually try and contribute.
I got the car cheap enough, but there's enough quirks to keep me tinkering
for the rest of the summer! As of right now I have replaced the tie rod
ends and will be replacing the thermostat shortly. Either at the same time
or just after that I'll be needing to replace the valve covers. I'm still
waiting on the previous owner for the center caps for my wheels and the rest
of the 'papers' he supposedly has. Doubt I'll end up seeing any of it, but
I'll just have to keep pestering.
I spent about a month or two searching down a Gen I SHO and almost bought a
red '90 but the fact it had been in an accident and had 224,000 km held me
back. Luckily I did or else I wouldn't have found this one. I just had to
have a Gen I. I was a lot boy at a Ford dealer back in '90 when these first
came out and I swore I'd own one of them one day!
I'll try and mark my calendar for the 2004 SHO Convention. I'm sure I could
make it since it's not too far from where I live. And I generally drive
down to LA at least once a year.
Clayton, you don't live too far from me. I live south of the highway, on
88th. Port Kells area, but Langley side. If you drive by you can probably
see my car sitting there, if I don't have it parked over in the shade. ;)
Once again, thanks for the "Welcome" and hope to talk to you more often!
Les

Hello, everyone...I just thought I'd take a moment and say hi and introduce
myself.
My name is Les and after searching around, I finally found my SHO. It's an
'89 in relatively good condition. 125,000 km on the odo (78,000ish miles)
with no squeaks, rattles or moans. At the moment, anyways. I've got some
quick photos uploaded if anyone cares to see it but it's no where near being
complete. http://members.shaw.ca/leslienielsen/sho.html
There are a few things needing to be done at the moment, which I may post if
I have problems.
Anyways, nice to meet you all and look forward to sharing with the list.
Leslie Nielsen,
Now stalking the streets and highways of Langley, BC. :)
