Accumulator/ dryer is the only dryer, the liquid line needs to be replaced.
You should flush the system, condenser and evaporator. Best is to drain the
oil and add equal amount of ester based oil as it is tolerant of the R12
oil. Preferred way is to remove the compressor and fill it with the new oil.
Change all "O" rings on the lines. There are kits for this. I was told that
the Ford lines are a different size for the 134a verse 12. all the lines are
aftermarket (FourSeasons and other brands). Its a good 1/2 - 3/4 day job.
The dryer line is easier to remove if you cut it leaving a "L" shaped piece
to twist and pull. The orifice is easier than it looks. The dryer line is
hardest to get back in as it is longer than the space to drop in. Put a
small amount dielectric grease on the "O" rings. You can change the low
pressure switch or use the screw under the plug to change the drop out
point. The conversion kits have the new fittings for the high and low
pressure connections as they are different. remove the shrader valve from
the R12 connections before adding the new ones. The kits that I am talking
about are not those in the discount stores. All they have are "O" rings and
134a fittings.
This is my take on it, 4 conversions so far, Ken
