I think Ian's right. My father got a new job back in Jan. He thought it was
this great job that he was indespensible in his sales position. Well after
being outta work for 6 months going into a 6 figure position before
comissions he decided a new car was in order. He had a bit of money stashed
from the sale of our family home, and since the company was giving him $600
a month for a "company car allowance" he went out and paid cash for a new
Mazda 6. Well 6 months after he got the job, and increases sales in his
division by nearly 1million dollars, they found a reason to can him, and did
so. And being that the company is in CA and he's here in NY, he's having a
heck of a time with everything. He's also now wishing that he had sunk the
$400 he needed in brakes into his ZX2 rather thant the $24k he splurged on
the Mazda 6.
Hold off a few months make sure the job is secure. At least you know your
SHO's history, and how it runs. There aren't any hidden expenses there.
