James,

#1, yes, disconnect the DIS and crank till the oil light
goes out, Should be just a few turns, but don't let the car
crank for more than about 10 seconds at a time, let it rest
about 10-15 seconds, but one 10 second crank should be
plenty., t hat answers #2 also.

Don't worry about the syncros. Just drive the car easy the
first few miles.

Just give the car a few minutes at idle to get things moving
again, also put the car in neutral and let the clutch out.
Use the clutch a few times BEFORE starting just to make sure
it is releasing. Sometimes the clutch can stick to the
flywheel. when you first crank it, have it in neutral.

If it has sat for a year, I would recommend flushing the
radiator after you get the car out and drive it for a good
long drive. But before you go a long ways, stop after a
couple miles and feel for any heat from the brake disks
(other than normal mild heat from stopping). If a brake is
dragging, it will heat up quick in a couple of miles.

If the gas tank isn't topped up (should always store cars
with full gas tanks.) then top it up with good gas from a
busy station, and it wouldn't hurt to toss in a bottle of
Chevron Techron just to get rid of any junk in there.

If the battery has been in the car, check the terminals for
corrosion, same with the connections on the starter, and
take out the battery and look under it for any collection of
acid.
