[Shotimes] OT- 89 Audi 200 bucking issue

A friend has a 1989 Audi 200 Quattro he's parting with and I'm considering 
purchasing. The car is very clean, 150k. It has one issue we've tried to resolve 
without success. Upon lifting after acceleration and slowing using engine 
braking [I know, brakes are cheaper then trannies], the car bucks. The higher you 
are in RPM's  the worse the bucking is when lifting. The tach does nothing 
odd during the bucking episodes and otherwise the car runs very well. 

I hoping maybe there's a generic cause for bucking.
