[Shotimes] Door ajar light

After I tried to open my door once when it was kinda frozen shut I pulled the 
handle farther up than it should have went. Ever since my door ajar light has 
been on and the handle feels like it has been hyperextended. Almost like 
there is not enough tension in the cable so you have to pull an extra inch or two. 
It's really annoying and I'm on a neverending goal to get rid of all my 
warning lights that stay on constantly. Anyone know how to remedy this?
