[Shotimes] mod chips...

Yep, with no other mods done to the car, the chip is not worth the money.
Although I've had good luck on two occasions with the LPM and an 80mm MAF, I
would just as soon use a calibrated MAF that doesn't require a chip. I
wouldn't add a chip until the level of mods required tuning beyond the stock
parameters.
All of that said, I have a spare LPM, originally programmed for the 80mm MAF
and an X2J PCM that I will sell if someone wants an LPM to get reprogrammed.

Curt, There are several documented cases where a chip is either HP neutral
or worse. As simple as the factory programming is, you will hear from
others that it is pretty darn effective. That's not to say that a chip
won't help you achieve more HP, but more than likely you will to get the
programming setup through the use of a dynojet to insure that the correct
A/F mixture is delivered to the engine. Also, what condition are your O2
sensors and MAF? This is just some background so that if you decide to
venture into this, you understand beforehand that it won't necessarily be a
10HP slamdunk.
Do you have any other mods made to your car?
