Ye, that's a very good.....and inexpensive.....solution to try. And there
are no absolutes. The '91 93K-mile MTX in my '95 SHO did not like Mobil 1
synthetic at all, but it works fine on basic 80W-90 gear oil, even with the
"paper" synchros.

I dont know if someone already mentioned this, but when my '91 was shifting
rough I just had the tranny fluid replaced. I could not believe the
difference!
Just like a new tranny.
