[Shotimes] engine problem, please help with diagnosis

Are you giving yourself a couple second delay between moving the key
from ON to START, so the fuel pump can pressurize the system? I wait for
the low coolant light to go out before starting my 92, seems to coincide
with the pump's pump-up time.
Anyway, I would start by checking the fuel pressure. How old is the
fuel filter?

Symptoms:
- Long cranking time before start, gradually occurring more often over
the
last two weeks
- Idle wanders up to 3K
- Occasionally idle dives to 500, lopey, no power, and stalls if you
step on
gas
- No CE light
History:
- 91 mtx with 140K
- Within last 2 years: Rod bearings, CID, CPS, timing belt, fuel
pump,
plugs/wires, much more
- Extremely reliable and quick-starting up until about 2 weeks ago
