I don't know I've ever heard of anyone report this type of problem on a SHO,
but the symptoms you describe are EXACTLY what happened to my 91 Alfa 164.
After a series of incorrect diagnoses, including replacing the check valve
in the fuel tank, it was discovered that the coolant temp sensor signal to
the Motronic was bad due to poor wiring connection. The computer relies
heavily on the coolant temp info. The damn car would just quit at the most
inopportune times like intersections, and sometimes I would have to wait for
the car to cool down again before it would restart.
I may be completely off-base here, but your reported symptoms just hit such
a nerve with me.
Good luck,
Carl
