Curt:

What year? What miles? How do you know that it is the relay?

-- When the engine is hot, is there 12V on the "car" side of the connector
to the radiator fan motor? If so, your relay is not bad. If not, your
relay may be bad

-- OR you might have a bad engine-temp sensor. Remember, there are THREE
engine-temp sensors. Just because your dash gauge indicates the engine temp
is rising does not mean that the PCM is seeing a hot engine.

-- Put an ohm meter across the radiator cooling fan. What result? See my
other recent posts about the radiator fan motor.

If you still conclude it's the relay, here is some info from the 1992 EVTM:
>From the IRCM (integrated relay controller module, the black box on the
radiator wall), pins #3 and #4 carry a DARK BLUE wire to a splice, thence a
DARK BLUE wire to the radiator fan motor. That's the power OUTPUT side.
The INPUT side is on pins #1 and #2, brown/orange wires.

Do you guys have a quick fix for the multi function relay when the cooling
fan relay goes?
Im just gonna wire my fan direct, as that MF relay is quite expensive, but
thought I would check with you guys first..
Also, I performed that eatc test to see why my fan is stuck on defrost, and
after the 20 seconds, I dont get any codes but instead all the numbers and
displays just stay on like when you first start up the vehicle....dont know
what that means...
thanks!
