It seems to be quite widespread. If it's a daily driver, it's probably
better, but the cars that sit for a bit have them die in a year or
two.....even with battery maintainers.

I would buy a gel battery to get away from the chance of spillage, but I've
had fantastic luck with $49.95 Duralast batteries from AutoZone. My 911 has
had one for a few years, and it works great, even with 6-month winter
layovers.

I hope it is not wide spread either. I purchased 3 on March 4 , 2001. One
for my car, two for my boat. I will know sometime in the future. Your six
years is better than I have done on any battery in my life including 2
million miles in autos and 20 years of owning boats.
