[Shotimes] Now (OT), was 16x7 or 16x7.5 ?

Actually, I really don't have a problem with vehicles that use a lot of gas (ok, not guzzlers.) If there were really a fuel shortage of some kind, gas would be more expensive. And if I were really worried about a fuel shortage, I would do my part to conserve by bicycling to work. Do we see many greenies doing this?
The problem I have with SUVs is safety related. I hate being stuck behind them in traffic. One is unable to see ahead beyond their rear end. In today's traffic, if one maintains a reccommended distance behind, another SUV will soon be in the space between. Other large vehicles, such as professionally driven trucks, stay to the right lanes. Not so with most SUVs (IME.) .

So? Every time you drive your 5-passenger SHO without passengers, you are
not using it to potential, either. So, do you have a 6+ car garage to have a
vehicle that is perfectly suited to the needs of the day for passengers, or
cargo, or both?
Terms like "gas guzzling" are meaningless words, basically used against
vehicles that the eco-fanatics don't happen to like. Ain't no such thing as
"gas guzzling"....period.

But it is gas guzzling when Expeditions, Excursions and full size 4x4
pickups are used for personal transportation to haul a driver and no more
than a bed full of air. For every mile they are driven with a full load,
there are 50 driven empty.

As you may have noticed, I have made this an OT topic. If anyone wants to
respond, do it to me privately, as this is a definite OT topic.
Whenever I see "gas guzzling" or "urban sprawl", etc, in anything I read, it
is a liberal, socialist, middle-class-values-hating, ignorant comment.
OK, as my friends do, they haul 6 passengers to soccer practice with gear.
What "guzzles gas" more? One Explorer hauling these 7 people (6 kids +
driver) & gear getting 15 mpg, or three Honda Civics hauling these 6 people
plus three drivers getting 30 mpg each hauling the same stuff?? Sorry, this
40-50 mpg BS is only highway miles, not around-town reality.
SUVS are useful vehicles, plus are safer than other cars. "Gas Guzzling" is
fightin' words for those of us with any sensibility, unlike "pie in the sky"
liberals.
Sorry, you obvious touched one of my "hot buttons".

Do you have the same problem up there
seeing all these ugly gas guzzling SUVs with 30" wheels with the spinning
centers?
