If I remmeber correctly the earlier caliper will not match up with the rotor
correctly. The GEN I rotor is larger, venter and slightly heavier. If you
were to do this in order to use the GEN 1 rotor you will need among other
things the GEN 1 caliper bracket (to fit the vented rotor. Since you have
both try doing a dry fit.

Hello,
Some time ago, I have my 92'MTX Rear brakes planted
into a 1993-MTX. I noticed that the Brake Pads off
the 1992 were wider and bigger? Thus More surface
area to grip the rotor with.
Would this require the whole Wheel/Hub and all? Is it
really better? what are your thoughts? Thanks.
I now have a 1995MTX and want to replace the brakes,
should I go buy a set for a 1990 for my 1995mtx?
Thanks all.
-John.
