[Shotimes] Close call--Thanks SHO

Had a close one yesterday and thought I should acknowledge the way my SHO's
performance capabilities saved three people from serious harm.

My wife and I were driving about 40 mph on a three-lane road (two travel
lanes and a center turn lane) when we approached the entrance to an
apartment building on the right. There was a car waiting there to pull out
into the roadway, and a white Mazda Miata in the turn lane pointed our way.
I wasn't paying huge attention (not like when I'm on my bike) but I'm sure
glad I wasn't tuning the radio because as we closed to 50 feet or so the
Mazda just turned left in front of us.

I hit the brakes hard and quickly saw I wouldn't be able to stop in time.
There was no oncoming traffic so I cranked it left and felt the ABS come on
as I steered past the Mazda, half in the turn lane and half in the oncoming
lane. It was over in a second and I just drove on. If this person would pull
in front of a sedan in broad daylight, she'd certainly have no trouble doing
it to a bike. I don't know if I could have avoided the hit on my scooter.

But thanks to good handling, ABS and my Dunlop Sport 5000s, all three of us
are fine this morning.
