I'm at Fairfield also. Try to picture this: The convention Marriott is on
the north side of a four-lane boulevard, the hotel being on, well, I guess
you could think of it as a service road.
On the south side of the boulevard is a mall/retail area, and the Fairfield
is amidst that. IIRC, door-to-door from Marriott to Fairfield is about half
a mile, maybe a quarter mile by crow flight. Nunnally will feel right at
home with that commute. :-)
I reserved the Fairfield a ways back at $60 per night. I think that was
through Travelocity.

What a pain, couldn't get a room at the Marry-Rot. (maybe my fault for
waiting so long to confirm). Anyway, the Fairfield is supposed to be right
across the street (according to the lady on the phone), hopefully not too
far away as not being at the host hotel is a pain (did it one other year).
Not much fun. I'm reserved there, it's about $10 cheaper than the 'rot. If
it's within walking distance it won't be too bad.
