[Shotimes] changed oil, now engine ticks??

I've been using Mobil-1 5w-30 in my '93 for the past few years, and decided
to switch back to conventional oil. Today I changed the oil and put in some
Castrol GTX 10w-30, which was a recommended dino oil by a few people on the
shoforum.
I was pleased to hear that the valvetrain seemed a bit quieter when I
started it for the first time with the new oil. Once the engine got warmed
up a few minutes later, though, I heard a constant ticking noise coming from
the engine. At first I thought it was either the valves or the fuel
injectors, it was that kind of noise, but a little louder than I've heard
before. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the noise was lounder under
the car than on top. It was also louder with the hood closed.
Could this be a sign of worn rod bearings? Any thoughts??
Thanks in advance,
Nathan
