Seriously, why would Ford put in such a dog motor when the 2.3l motor was
available.  Imagine, if Ford could have put in a Turbo 2.3l, ATX or MTX and
marketed it to challenge the Dodge Spirit turbo! Now that would have been
good for the domestic sports sedan market back then!
