[Shotimes] Putting a keyless entry door on a non-keyless entry car

I found an emerald green drivers door to replace my damaged one and I
installed it over the weekend. Before I removed the damaged door I
checked that everything still worked properly (window, door locks, no
"door ajar" light).
The replacement door has the keyless entry pad on it. After
installation the windows work fine, however I have a constant "door
ajar" light even with the doors closed and the door lights off. Also
the door lock buttons don't work.
Before I take things apart again, are their any tricks installing a
keyless entry door on a car that was not originally equipped with
keyless entry? (Disconnect, cut or jumper wires?)?
I would like the "door ajar" light to operate properly and the door lock
buttons to operate properly. Right now I am driving with a constant
"door ajar light". In order to get in the car I have to open up the
passenger door and then reach over to open the drivers door. This will
get old fast.
I haven't swapped the key locks yet, but that's next on the list.
Thanks for your help,

Subject: [Shotimes] Emerald Green Gen II SHO Drivers Door
My 1993 SHO was involved in an accident and I may need a replacement
drivers door. I've got to take a close look at the rest of the damage
to see if it's worth saving the car.
Is there anything special about a GEN II SHO driver's door? Will a
normal Taurus or Sable door work?
BTW, if anyone has an Emerald Green GEN II SHO driver's door that they
want to part with, please contact me off list with the details.
A location in Southern CA is preferred so that I can pick it up.
