You said it best in one of your other posts - At least 3 outta 4 posts
here (new posts) are car related. The forums tend to have a younger user
base and the topics reflect that. The same goes for the V8 list (maybe
not the average age but, certainly the content). I was off of that list
for over a year. When I picked up the 99, I figured I'd sign back up
but, I'd say 90% of those posts are crap OT shit that holds absolutely
no interest to me. It's become more of a homeroom BS session than
anything else which is why I un-subbed once and for all about 1 1/2
months ago.
I agree that this list is doing fine. I signed up to this list in '98
and for the most part, it has been a consistent list in as far as
getting good technical information, on topic discussions and limited
juvenile crap. Some of it may be re-hash but, that's how we get better
at keeping these things on the road!

Well, the design of the car hasn't changed in ten years (Gen 1 & 2)!!
How many different things are out there??
Actually, the nature of the list has changed quite a bit over that time,
and even within the last year or two. Volume is way down, and things are
more maintenance/repair/modifications related than before. Sure, some of
the same questions get asked over time, but over time some of the
answers have also changed to a better/easier/cheaper solution.
I would not call it a "recent surge" in specialists. The list of
specialists has been there for quite a while, maybe it's just that you
now have a few more in the Northeast.. True that there has been more
performance activity over the last few years as cars have gotten
cheaper, but other than the explosion of 3.2 installs in MTXs, there
hasn't really been anything new on the performance mod front in a number
of years.
The list is doing fine, I believe. The cars are becoming more as
2nd-3rd-4th vehicles that are not driven daily, and I see that trend
continuing. Also as time goes on, there will be more people who will
want to return their SHOs to stock, original, condition. There's nothing
new and unique to SHOs in what I just wrote, SHOs are just following the
progression of other enthusiast cars that have gotten older.
