[Shotimes] BMW/Porsche SHIFTtronic Tranny in SHO

Anything is possible given enough money, time, & engineering. I don't think
this one would be too easy given the fact that one must change the front
drive layout to rear drive. Here are a few things that must be addressed:

1. Fabricate a bellhousing or adapter to go from the SHO engine to the BMW
or Porsche transmission.
2. Transmission tunnel would need to be fabricated.
3. Fabricate transmission mounts.
4. New rear end (I would suggest trying to get a setup from a T-Bird
Supercoupe and fabricating it to mount to the SHO)
5. Fabricate a driveshaft to go from a BMW or Porsche transmission to the
rear end.
6. A new fuel tank would be needed.
7. The engine would have to be turned from the current transverse position
to a rear-drive friendly north-south position. New engine mounts would need
to be fabricated and all the other ancilliaries that attach the engine to
other components under hood.
8. A computer would need to be used to control the transmission (the BMW and
Porsche units use a processor to control the gearbox).

I know there may be more stuff, but I cannot think of them right now. With
all the money that you would throw at the SHO to convert it, you could buy a
nice, used BMW 540i Automatic.
