This has been suggested before, but sell your current Taurus, and buy a real
SHO. Nothing against the Vulcan engine or non-SHO Taurii, but the SHO is
not a "feel", it is an engine, plain and simple. You can add all the SHO
suspension goodies you want to a non-SHO Taurus, and it would probably
handle just as good as a SHO. You could add a supercharger to the Vulcan,
come up with 220 hp, just like the SHO, but still not have the feel.

Where the SHO gets its magic, its feel, is from the Yamaha designed engine.
When you hit the loud pedal, and the tach needle rushes from 2k on up to and
past 4k when the secondaries kick in, it sounds like an older muscle car
with a Holley 4-barrel carb and the secondaries open on it (ok, nowhere near
as good, but think F.1 with a Holley and you get the sound :-), then keep
your foot down past 6k, where you would normally shift a Vulcan, keep going
all the way past redline, then shift, and do it again in the next gear.
This is what a SHO is all about. The SHO isn't really about the horsepower
under the hood... Well, ok, to some extent it is, but it is also about the
Bundle o' Snakes under the hood, the awesome rush to the 7.8k rev limiter,
the awesome sports bucket seats, and watching people's looks on their faces
when they hear a Taurus turn some serious rpms.

Now, if you want handling "feel", sell the Taurus and buy a BMW, either an
E30 325i (88-91) or E36 325i (92-97), get an "is" if you do not need
4-doors, get an E30 if you want awesome handling, an E36 if you can give up
a little handling for more room.
