My uncle was an auto journalist, and went to the official introduction of the Jeep Grand Cherokee at the King Ranch in Texas. After driving one all over the ranch, sometimes at high speed, he told me if I ever drove one I would buy it. Not wanting to forsake my genI SHO for an SUV, I made sure I never drove one. Now 10+ years later, I finally bought one for the AWA. It is an interesting comparison to the SHO. What the SHO does on pavement compared to "ordinary" cars, the Jeep does off-pavement, compared to "ordinary" SUV's.
