[Shotimes] new gut on list 2

Well, Dave, if you aren't afraid of maintenance, a SHO may very well be in
your future. The SHO is very rewarding, in that it has that special
"something" that gets into you. If it didn't have that "something", I would
have never bought a SHO. If it were as sterile as most Japanese cars, I
would have chosen a Maxima, but it lit a fire in me, and I just had to have
a SHO, logic be damned! Since I have owned my SHO, I have only had 1 other
car that has made me want to sell it, and that was my E30 M3. But the
morning I decided to sell the SHO, I was rear-ended, and my M3 was totaled.
The only cars that would cause me to sell my SHO now, however, have BMW
badges on them.

I never regret having bought my SHO, even though the previous owner didn't
have regular oil changes, and about 8k miles and three oil changes later
(changed it when I got the car, then each 3k afterward), the engine spun a
rod bearing. The list was great in helping me find another engine, and
turning me on to SHOnut ( http://www.shonutperformance.com ) for low prices
on SHO parts. This list is also very helpful for seemingly daunting tasks,
like removing the intake! My first time, it took me maybe 3 hours (removal
and replacement), my second time about 30 minutes.

But for me, one of the most intoxicating things about the SHO is the intake
design. I love the look so much, I have one hanging on my wall in my home
office/computer lab :-)

> Wow guys I didn't want to start a war from guys that wished they had
bought a maxima (Ian started it not I). All I wanted was info, and I thank
all that offered it without bias on their experience with the SHO. As far as
dependability goes, if I was looking for a car without the joy of doing
preventive maintiance I wouldn't be looking at a SHO or would I have bought
three fieros, but I for one love to do the work on a car. I feel that it has
great rewards in caring for a car that not ever one is driving one the road
these days. There is nothing like the feeling of getting out of your car in
a parking lot and hearing someone say "wow I haven't seen one on those in
awhile" but I guess not everyone on the list feels that way about a car that
can bring you as much joy and or pride as a SHO, Fiero or any other car that
is unique. (like a ferrari or a jag isn't a maintince nightmare)
