Steve,

At the $800 per year, that works out to less than $67 per 
month.  As you mention, car payments on something newer 
would be a LOT more than that!

That is why my newest car is now going on 8 years old!  (96 
ES SHO) and my "fun" car is going on 15 years old (89 
Titanium SHO).
