[Shotimes] Hood struts WITH strut tower brace?

I've had a strut tower brace for so long in both my previous '89 and my
current '95 SHO I've forgotten what it's like to have hood struts. ;-)  I
had the traditional prop rod that came with the front brace, but it seems to
of disappeared awhile back.  I've taken to carrying a piece of wood in the
truck that can be used as a hood prop, but it's not the sturdiest prop rod
(visions of hood crashing down on my head go thru said head every time I get
under the hood) and ugly to boot.
 
I thought I'd seen someone talking about a "mod" that would allow for
mounting hood struts in an alternate location that didn't interfere with the
strut tower brace, but can't find anything similar to that in the FAQ.
Anyone want to clue me in?? ;-)
